AWKA, Anambra – Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra State, who emerged overall Best UTME candidate in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) with 362 overall score has said she is traumatized by the outrage of JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-Haq Oloyede that she forged her result.
Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma who spoke via an online video which has gone viral explained that she downloaded and printed the JAMB result on her hand directly from the official JAMB website, adding that she doesn’t understand why the registrar is saying she forged the result.
“I am traumatized that they said I forged my own result”, she said, adding that she is not capable of doing what she is accused of doing.
Speaking on the alleged forgery, she said, if I forged it, how come, when “they scanned this QR code, it showed a Yoruba name Omotola Afolabi, with 138, and that same person got 238 when they checked again, meaning there is problem somewhere she said.
She said she went to the office of the Commissioner for Education in Anambra with the principal of her school.
“ I went to the Commissioner for Education in Anambra with the principle of my school, they scanned the result and sent it to JAMB but they called back and said I forged the result myself and that JAMB does not have records of this result.
“They called the DSS to come to her office. They came and took us to their office where we made statement and they said they will investigate and contact us but instead of waiting for result of the investigation they posted it that I forged my result. I am not happy”, Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma said.
Already, she has become source of joke on the internet, with many making jest of her and tarnishing her reputation.
Nigerians are already suggesting the need to get a lawyer for the girl to enable her take up the issue with JAMB in the court to clear her name and compel JAMB to pay her handsomely for damaging her reputation and that of her family.
