Whisks Emefiele away defying court order

IKOYI, Lagos – Officials of the Department of State Service, DSS and those of Nigerian Correctional Service, NCS today engaged themselves in an unprecedented shameful brawl in the premises of the Federal High Court Ikoyi.
This took place after Justice Nicholas Oweibo granted bail to the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele.

Emefiele, according to the charge sheet was arraigned because he had in his possession a short single barrel gun and about 120 rounds of ammunition.
However, shortly after his bail of N20 million with a surety in like sum with an order that Emefiele be ramanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail, officials of the DSS jumped in the fray and surrounded the exit of the court armed to the teeth and engaged officials of NCS, rough handling them in their quest to forcefully take Emefiele away
They did that despite the heavy presence of civilians who booed and jeered them for desecrating democracy and the rule of law.
