Anambra govt seals Cosmila Hotel over death of staff

AWKA – Anambra State government has sealed off Cosmila Hotel in Awka, the state capital,  where  a young Lady Miss Chinyere Awuda  was beaten to dead and dumped into a pool of water.

 

This was confirmed by the Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Mr Don Onyenji and Chief Press secretary to the governor Mr Christian Aburime.

Onyenji who spoke with  our reporter via phone ,said that the state has to seal the hotel to enable police to do a thorough investigation .

According to him,the government is worried about the development and would not tolerate waste of human life for any reason.

He also disclosed that the Police have arrested some  suspects and that they are in custody.

“Yes, we have visited the hotel, and also sealed it off.

“We are in touch with the police, who are already investigating the matter, and the facility will remain sealed, pending the outcome of police investigation.” he said.

Aburime who also confirmed the sealing off of the hotel said the state government took the action to carry out proper investigation into the case.

He also confirmed that the suspects have arrested and they are  in the Police custody.

Also the spokesperson for  Anambra State Police command DSP Ikenga Tochukwu said  four suspects including the celebrant have arrested .

According to him,the investigation are still ongoing and they will be charged to court soonest.

It had reported that a young  lady was  beaten to death by some fun seekers in a hotel in Awka at the  weekend.

The lady  was accused of picking and pocketing money being sprayed on the celebrant,  who was celebrating his birthday in the hotel.
