KIEV – Okeksiy Arestovych, a former adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has proposed ceding 20 percent of Ukraine’s territory to Russia to pave way for membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, NATO.

Arestovych gave the advice on television. Already, Russia has conducted a referendum which official makes some of the Ukraine territories it occupied  Russian territory though not ratified by the United Nations.

Arestovych is also proposing peaceful liberation of other territories in a peaceful way. He is making the proposal following heavy losses suffered by Ukraine in the ongoing war despite over $20 billion in arms from the United States and its western allies.

Almost all the weapons supplied by NATO have been  burnt up by the Russian Flame thrower and in the process killing all those aboard. Besides, hundreds of the Ukraine Armed Forces have been killed while many have surrendered.

Drive to enlist more civilians into the UAF is being resisted while some of those being imported into the country to fight have in some instances being killed by Russian forces before arriving area of primary assignment in addition to several arms depot destroyed.

Oleksiy Arestovych  resigned in January after suggesting a Russian missile which hit a building in Dnipro, killing 44 people, was shot down by Kyiv.

Mr Arestovych apologised and said he had made a “fundamental error”. The original remark caused widespread anger in the country, and was used by Russian officials to blame Ukraine.

He later posted a letter tendering his resignation and said he had made a “fundamental error”.

“I offer my sincere apologies to the victims and their relatives, the residents of Dnipro and everyone who was deeply hurt by my prematurely erroneous version of the reason for the Russian missile striking a residential building,” he wrote in a longer post on Telegram.
