MUNICH – Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel on Friday did not want to join speculation that the Bundesliga champions were after forward Randal Kolo Muani from league rivals Eintracht Frankfurt.
“I can not confirm it, we can make this short,” Tuchel told reporters when asked about the France player. “I wouldn’t confirm it if it was the case but I can’t confirm it at all.”
Bayern have struggled up front since Robert Lewandowski’s departure for Barcelona last year. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was able to fill in with his goals for a while but has been injured lately.
Kolo Muani, 24, has a Frankfurt contract until 2027 and any club trying to get him would reportedly need to splash out around €100 million ($110 million). He has scored 21 goals in all competitions for Frankfurt this season.
Bayern are said to be interested but so are reportedly other European top clubs including Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Munich interest in Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane has meanwhile seemingly cooled down lately.
And the Bild paper reported that Bayern are not sure whether to go after Serie A top scorer Victor Osimhen from freshly crowned champions Napoli because of doubts whether he could help them from the outset. Osimhen is also said to be a target for other big clubs.
