He had hosted quiz competition in Okija,he has invested so much in education, he built Jesuit College in Okija and has over 50 students he is paying for their school fees of over one million naira per person every term. I think he is a lover of education and I want to appreciate him through education

OKIJA, Ihiala, Anambra, Nigeria – A group known as Akpoazaa Foundation has offered scholarships to 10 indigent students in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State in appreciation of what the chairman of Obijackson groups, Dr Enest Azudialu Obiejesi has been doing to the community.

Giving the scholarships to the beneficiaries, compromising two undergraduates, four primary school pupils and four secondary students, the chairman of the foundation Hon Frank Igbojindu said there is nothing he cannot do to appreciate Dr Enest Azudialu Obiejesi for his numerous deeds to Okija community.

He said that he made up his mind to be honouring Obijackson in his life till he dies in appreciation of all the good things he has done/ doing for the community.

“We are here today to celebrate a man who has done so much for the development of Okija community. He built the children and women hospital in Okija ,one of the best in west Africa, he built Jesuit College in Okija and placed over 50 students on scholarships, where he pays over one million naira per person every term. He tarred many roads in Okija and empowered many youths in the community. In fact, his philanthropic activities in Okija is overwhelming.

“He just marked his 63 years birthday and having seen all he has done I decided to honour him by awarding scholarships to 10 indigent students from Okija. Four from primary school, four from secondary school and two from the university. We set up a committee and advertised for the scholarships in various Okija platforms and over 50 persons applied and 10 were chosen and we made sure that each Obi in Okija is represented in the scholarships.

“Obijackson is not even aware that I am organizing this programme to honour his philanthropic gesture in Okija” he stated.

On why he decided to honour him through scholarship to indigent students, Frank Igbojindu said he believes so much in education and Obijackson also is a lover education and he has demonstrated that in many ways.

” I made a quote in 2020, that investment in education is an indirect way of storing wealth for future. I am ready to fight illiteracy. I believe in education and I appreciate the importance of education in development of any community. If you watch my foundation, we touch lives through education.

“We have education programme where we organize quiz competition and offer scholarship for brilliant students every year and we have over 82 students in our scholarships . I believed so much in education because it is the bedrock of every meaningful development in all society. If we get it well through education, the society will be better” he noted.

According to him, when the foundation came up with the idea of scholarships many people thought it was a scam but today it is clear that it is not a scam , people applied and benefited. He stated that he will be making it an annual event and by next year more people would be accommodated, at least 30 persons.

” It will be an annual event because Obijackson is the person I want to honour all my life till I die. He has done so much to us and he deserves the honour and appreciation even from the larger community. I expected that the community and honour him at his recent birthday.

“Most of the people who benefited from this scholarships, I don’t know them . One of the criteria for selection was that the person most come from poor home. Those whose parents find it difficult to pay their children school fees.

“He has a Doctorate Degree, not the honorary one, but he studied and earned it, PhD . He knew that education is the bedrock of every development in any given society and he is giving all to education” he stated. Also speaking at the ceremony ,the Principal of Okija Grammar School, Mrs Udensi Nkechi commended the benefactor for his wonderful gesture, noting that such gesture will assist parents in the training their children with little pains.

According to her, Okija grammar school has three children who benefited from the scholarships and the school is happy for that.

“Some parents are finding it difficult to pay their children school fees and when this kind of help comes ,it assist them to alleviate the pains they go through paying their children school fees. When he told me about this programme I was very happy because it will go along way to assist parents in training their children. He has a very big heart, it is not easy for somebody to come out to say he wants to honour Obijackson with little at his disposal ” she stated.

She also commended Obijackson for the wonderful development stride he has brought to the community and thanked him for remembering the poor in the society. She also advised all other rich people in the community to think about the poor and give them a push to climb in the society for the good of Okija community.

One of the parents, whose daughter benefited from the scholarships, Mr. Humphrey Okonkwo expressed his gratitude to Akpoazaa Foundation for coming up to help the poor in the community. Mr. Okonkwo whose daughter is a student at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University said that he is hopeful that if one of his child is successful the rest will get it better in life.

“I’am praying for the life of the organiser of the programme. I also prayed that God will give him more resource to be able to touch more lives in the community. He has been helping the poor even during Christmas, he donated to poor ” he stated.

One beneficiary, Miss Okonkwo Chinaza Favour, a 200 level student of Department of Human Anatomy, College of Health Sciences Okofia campus ,Nnamdi Azikiwe University thanked the organiser for the gesture . She said that she was excited for being among those selected for the scholarships .

“I just knew about scholarships in our youth platform and I decided to apply and by God’s grace I am one of the beneficiaries. I appreciate the benefactor for the love he has for the community and I prayed that God will continue to bless him” she said. The 23 years student of human anatomy noted that she is privileged to be one of the beneficiaries and would never take the scholarships for granted .

” I’am sure this investment in me will yield positive result. I will not disappoint my parents and the sponsor of the scholarship and my community. I’am going to make my community proud for this sacrifice and love cannot be in vain, ” she added.

A concerned Okija citizen, Mr Chidi Nwaeji also expressed joy over the Akpoazaa Foundation gesture to the community. According to him, these are the kind of things the community is praying to be happening every time. He asked God to continue to provide for him to take care of more people in the community and implored others to follow the footsteps.

Obijackson is a successful business man with many companies and has brought joy not only to Okija community but the entire Anambra state .
