AWKA, Anambra – Chief Executives Officer (CEO) of Akpoazaa Foundation, Hon. Frank Igbojindu has given scholarships to winners of Okija Mathematics and Igbo Quiz Competition. The scholarships scheme will cover one year sponsorship, ambassadorial endorsement, ICT training and others.
Uchendu Great of Union Secondary School Okija and Chibunna Ogbonna of Christ The Foundation Model Academy Okija, Anambra State emerged winners in the Best Brain Mathematics and Igbo Quiz Competition for Junior Secondary Schools .
While Master Chibunna Ogbonna,13 of Christ The Foundation Model Academy Okija, took first position in the Igbo category. The Event which was held on MARCH 31, 2023 at Umuapani Hall Ubahu Okija, Anambra State saw 10 schools and students participating in each of the Category.
Thirteen years old JSS II student ,Master Uchendu Great of the Union Secondary School Okija beat others to emerge the over best in the Mathematics category.
Master Okafor Chigozie of His Grace Secondary School Okija and Master Chinewubeze Elochukwu of British Standard Secondary School Okija came second and third position respectively in Igbo language Category.
While,Miss Okolie Success of British Standard School Okija and Miss Nzeka Ekpereamaka of Okija Grammar School Okija came second and third position in Mathematics Category .
The winners of each category is given a one year scholarships and one year BBC Ambassadorial Endorsement with stipends for upkeep, 6 months ICT training, Billboard Picture Placement, Media Online Promotions amongst other gifted items. While the second positions got two Terms Scholarships, Exercise Books and other writing materials.
Speaking to our reporter, shortly after emerging the winner, Master Uchendu Great said the competition had exposed him to rigorous studies in the school. He said that he now appreciate the need for studying hard, noting that his hard work paid off.
According to him, during his preparation, he read alot with the assistance of his teachers. He commended the sponsor of programme ,Akpoazaa Foundation for the opportunity given to them to participate in the quiz competition.
“I want to say a very big thank you to CEO Best Brain Contest for this opportunity and for opening a very good platform for students in Okija to showcase mathematical skills” he said.
Also speaking to our reporter ,the winner in the Igbo category, Master Chibunna Ogbonna described his emergent as dream come true.
He said that he had looked for such an opportunity in life and thanked the organiser for creating such an opportunity to compete in Igbo quiz in the state. He urged the youths of Igbo extraction to always prioritize learning of Igbo language and the culture.
“This is a dream comes true. I never expected it, but to God be the Glory for this wonderful Programme. May God bless the Best Brain Contest Teams” he stated.
The foremost Educationist and Philanthropist per excellence, Hon. Frank Igbojindu who is the CEO, Best Brain Contest and Chairman Akpoazaa Foundation, the Proud Sponsor of the Quiz Competition said the initiative was designed to encourage the youth to speak Igbo and embrace their culture.
He also stated that the programme was majorly designed to encourage the mathematical solving skills and interpersonal relationships amongst the students.
According to him, the winners of each of the categories is placed on scholarships and one year BBC Ambassadorial Endorsement with stipends for upkeep, 6 months ICT training, Billboard Picture Placement, Media Online Promotions amongst other gifted items.
Hon. Frank Igbojindu also appreciated in special way, God Almighty for His Mercies and individuals who believed in the initiative and partnered to making the program a success. He praised that God will continue to bless and uphold them mightily.
