 LAGOS, Nigeria – The Labour Party, LP has reviewed downward  governorship nomination fee to N15 million ahead of Imo Governorship election coming up later on in the year.

The LP also resolved to refund N10 million to each  of the candidates that obtained the  nomination form at a fee earlier fixed by the party.

The Labour Party in addition agreed to refund the money the late Chief Humphrey Anumudu paid for the governorship form to his widow.

Presidential candidate of the LP, Mr. Peter Obi who made the revelation thanked the national chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Abure and the National Working Committee for heeding to his appeal, and reviewing the nomination fee for the governorship form downward to N15 million.

“I thank the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barr. Julius Abure, and the NWC for heeding to my appeal, and reviewing the nomination fee for the governorship form downwards to N15m.

“I applaud them for also agreeing to refund the cost of the form to the family of a deceased aspirant Chief Humphrey Anumudu from Imo State; and also agreeing to refund N10m to each of those that had paid”, he said, adding that the gestures, reflect Labour Party’s responsiveness to the yearnings of Nigerians.
