MUNICH – Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl doesn’t believe that the change of coach at Bayern Munich will have a major impact in their Bundesliga table-topper on Saturday.

Dortmund top the league ahead of Bayern by one point and the match between both sides at the weekend will be Thomas Tuchel’s debut for the Bavarians after Julian Nagelsmann was dismissed.

“I don’t think Bayern will be better on Saturday with Thomas Tuchel than before under Julian Nagelsmann,” Kehl said on Tuesday.

“I don’t think these changes will necessarily affect this game that much because many international players are still away until midweek and an insane number of training sessions cannot take place,” he added.

Tuchel led his first training session as Bayern coach on Tuesday but was missing several players, such as Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, who are away with their national teams.

Kehl also dismissed reports that midfielder Karim Adeyemi was doubtful for the game due to thigh issues after recovering from a torn muscle fibre.

“That is not the case. Karim is fully involved and will take the next steps this week,” he said.
