UMUAHIA, Nigeria – Abia state governorship candidate on the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA Prof. Greg Ibe has assured the people of Ukwa East Local Government Area of better condition if elected the governor of the state.
Prof Ibe gave the assurance, when his campaign team stormed Ukwa land on the 1st of March, 2023. While addressing the residents of Ukwa Ngwa Prof. Gregory Ibe said his government will better the lives of Ndi Ukwa in the APGA if elected into power on March 11 2023.
Ibe promised to build a standard general hospital in the Local Government Area, noting that he emphasizes food management and education revitalization programme. He said he has developed a template that he will use to develop Ukwa Ngwa land in his manifesto using 18% derivative.
He said that for his love for the town, a good numbers of Ukwa Ngwa, sons and daughters are already beneficiaries of his scholarship scheme.
He condemned the state government for abandoning the area, even when Ukwa Ngwa is one of the oil producing place that made Abia state oil producing state . The team visited Ukwa West Local Government Area, and Prof. Gregory Ibe, at different marketplaces, addressed the people and assured them of his commitment towards bettering their lives.
He stated need for Ogwe Farm Settlement to be revived and he promised to build a petrochemical industry in the Local Government Area. Speaking about education, Prof. Greg Ibe promised to fight for the establishment of a federal polytechnic or university in the area.
Visiting Engr. Ugochukwu Adinigwe at his Owaza country home, the team spent some time listening to the words of Mr. Emeka Adiele, the leader of Asa Liberation Movement. He was of the view that the past governments in Abia had neglected Asa people and assured Prof. Gregory Ibe of their supports.
He condemned the attitudes of some APGA polling unit agents in the just concluded National Assembly elections in Abia, which he claimed affected Engr. Adinigwe’s performance at the polls.
Mr. Emeka Adiele of Asa Liberation Movement asked Prof. Gregory Ibe to provide them with security that will assist them in making sure he wins in Ukwa West in the forthcoming Abia gubernatorial election. Prof. Greg Ibe, in his response, assured Asa people of his commitment to bettering their lives, if elected. And he made them to understand that he is their in-law, having his sister married to an Asa man.
He assured Engr. Adinigwe of his support as he approaches the court to seek for justice that will enable him reclaim his mandate, which, he claimed, has been stolen by Chief Chris Nkwonta.
Addressing the people, the Director General of Prof. Gregory Ibe Campaign Organization, Barr. Emeka Longman Nwachukwu assured the Asa Liberation Movement of Prof. Greg Ibe’s support to the movement.
Many APGA stakeholders were in attendance, including the distinguished Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and the State Chairman of the party.
