LAGOS, Nigeria – Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and Chief Victor Umeh have emerged winners in their various states in the senate and national assembly election held last Saturday.
David Umahi of the All Progressive Congress, APC polled 28, 378 votes to defeat Linus Okorie of the Labour Party, who scored 25, 496 votes, while Ifeanyi Eleje of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA scored 11, 398 votes.
Chief Victor Umeh of Labour Party polled 64, 879 votes to defeat other candidate in the Anambra Central Senatorial Seat. Chris Ngige of the All Progressive Congress, polled just 975 votes.
Ireti Kingibe Heeba of the Labour Party also won to represent FCT in the Senate. She scored 57 votes to defeat candidate of the APC, who scored 30 votes.
In Lagos State, George Adegeye of the Labour Party won House of Representatives in Amuwo-Odofin. He scored 46, 702 votes to defeat Prince Lanre Sanusi of the APC, who scored 12, 946 votes.
In Enugu, Chidi Obetta of the Labour Party won Nsukka/Igbo Eze South Federal Enugu. He polled 50, 881 votes to defeat his closest rival, Chief Vita Abba, who polled 19, 347 votes.
In the House of Representatives, Ginger Onwusibe of the Labour Party won Isiala Ngwa Federal constituency, polling 20, 411 votes to defeat Governor Gabriel Ikpeazu of Abia State of the PDP who scored 13, 508 votes.
Similarly, Nkemkanma Kama, won Federal Constituency, Ohaozara under the platform of the LP. He scored 19,921 votes to defeat Fidelix Igboke of the APC who polled 14, 231 votes.
