LAGOS, Nigeria – The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC  has extended collection of Permanent Voters Card, PVCs by one week.

In a statement after a meeting with all the 36 Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja, INEC Chairman, Professor Yakubu Mahmood said the commission is extending the PVC  collection in all the local governments areas  across the federation by an additional one week.

“The ongoing collection of PVCs will therefore continue  and end on 5th of February 2023”, INEC  said, adding that it is the second time the commission will be extending PVC  collection nationwide,  and  that this will be the last extension by the commission.

“Collection period has further been extended by an additional  two hours and  will start at 9am and end at 5pm daily including Saturdays and Sundays”, he said.

INEC  said those that engaged in double registration  should not bother to visit any of the commission’s office since it did not print PVCs for them.
