AWKA, Nigeria – Anambra state coordinator of the National Youths Service Corps, (NYSC) Mrs Blessed Ekene Iruma has called on   corps members deployed to the state to  maintain the  unity of the country.

She made the call on Saturday at National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, 2022 Batch C Stream One  cultural carnival held  at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Unity NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area.

According to her, the cultural carnival was designed to  expose Nigerian youths to different cultures and languages in the country

The cultural carnival, according to the  coordinator  was a ritual by which Corps members are brought together to enable them appreciate the beauty, gains and strength of the country in its diversity.

She reminded Corps members that maintaining Nigeria’s unity was a shared responsibility, with a role for them to play.

The NYSC Coordinator, who described Ndi-Anambra as accommodating, urged the State Governor, Charles Soludo, to address the erosion challenge currently ravaging the State Orientation Camp.

She also stated that the Scheme had  sustained relationship with the State Government and security agencies in the state for the numerous supports they have been giving to the NYSC and Corps members serving in the state.

Aruma   expressed hope that the governor would sustain the gesture to enable the state continuously enjoy the benefits of the scheme.

Different cultural groups, martial arts, sack race, thread in the needle, catching the rain, filling the can were activities were the high light of activities at the event .
