LONDON, UK – The British-Indian, Rishi Sunak, 42 has assumed role as Prime Minister of Britain, less than a week after Liz Truss resigned when her economic policies threw Britain into an unprecedented economic woe.

Sunak is forming government as the 16th Prime Minister and the 5th  to lead Britain in this turbulent six years.  Sunak was invited to former government after meeting King Charles III.

Recall that he emerged leader of the ruling Conservative Party unanimously when the two contenders, former PM, Boris Johnson and Penny Mordaunt dropped out of the race for failing to secure maximum votes.

“I have accepted His Majesty the King’s invitation to form a government in his name. I will place economic stability and confidence at the heart of this government’s agenda.

“I will unite our country not with words, but with action. I will work day in and day out to deliver for you. And that work begins immediately. But I can’t do it without your help. Help this government deliver.

“The mandate the Conservative party earned in 2019 is a mandate that belongs to, and unites, all of us. A stronger NHS. Better schools. Safer streets. Control of our borders. Protecting our environment. Supporting our armed forces. Levelling up.

“And building an economy that embraces the opportunities of Brexit where businesses invest, innovate and create jobs. Together we can achieve incredible things”, the British youngest Prime Minister declared.

He described the United States and the United Kingdom as  the closest of allies, adding that he looks forward to work with President Joe Biden in support of Ukraine and stability across the world.

“I look forward to working together with  @POTUS  to enhance stability across the world and continue our leading role in support of the people of Ukraine”, he said.

Earlier, Sunak, was seen lighting Hindu lamps at the entrance to 10 Downing Street, London, doing what appear to be ritual worship  of his Hindu god.
