KOGI, Nigeria – The People’s Democratic Party, PDP has alerted the Presidency and security agencies that the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello now has a killer squad which he intends to unleash on Nigerians in the 2023 general elections.
PDP raised the alarm following an online video wherein the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello was featured urging his supporters to burn and unleash maximum violence on Nigerians during the 2023 general election.
In a statement, PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba said in the video the sitting governor of Kogi State was heard terrorism and issuing threats to all those who will not support his party.

In the video the Kogi Governor was quoted as saying in his local language “ I will personally light a fierce fire in my hands, whoever wants it, we shall use it to burn them, whoever survives it will thank God. Whoever is against us, we will make him or her join my mother and lie with her(my mother) in the grave”.
The PDP described the utterance of the sitting governor as nothing but terrorism, adding that by the definition of Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, “Unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof in furtherance of political or social objectives”, he said.
He warned that the brazen threat by the governor rases apprehension in the public space of the existence of a killer squad established to inflict violence on Nigerians ahead of the 2023 general elections just because they have rejected the corrupt, divisive and rudderless All Progressive Congress(APC) whose failure is manifest in Yahaya Bello’s abysmal performance in Kogi State.
The PDP said that by his utterance, Nigerians now know the individual who engineered the gruesome killing of Nigerians including the PDP women Leader, Mrs. Salome Abu, who was burnt alive in her house in Kogi State during the 2019 general elections and the disappearance of Hon. Adelabu Musa, the PDP chairman in Okene Local Government.
The PDP said the threat of violence portends a breach of public peace, able to truncate the 2023 general elections and derail democracy.
The PDP called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the governor to order and put his supporters under security surveillance. The PDP also called on the Inspector General of Police to launch investigation into activities of Governor Yahaya Bello, nip the development in the bud and prosecute Bello at the end of his tenure.
The PDP urged Nigerians not to be deterred by the utterance of the governor and be determined to liberate the country from the clutches of APC.
