LAGOS, Nigeria – Popular Comedian and Nollywood actor, Okey Bakassi has explained why he will vote for candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi instead of that of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and that of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Okey Bakassi who was writing on Twitter said he will support and vote for Peter Obi because he wants him to fix Nigeria so that the elderly will not have to travel abroad for medical tourism.
Specifically, he said fixing Nigeria will make it impossible for the likes of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to travel abroad for health reason and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will not relocate to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
“I don’t want Atiku or Tinubu to fail, I just want Nigeria to succeed. I’ll support and vote for @PeterObi to fix Nigeria, so in their very old age, Buhari & Tinubu won’t be going to London for medical treatment and Atiku won’t live in Dubai.
Okey Bakassi, spoke at a time when millions are allegedly being targeted at Icons of Nollywood to support the candidature of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In the last count, unverified reports say, Osuofia, (Nkem Owoh), who became very famous for his role in Osuofia in London and Pete Edochie noted for Okonkwo in Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart, adopted into a TV drama have all been targeted in the #millions4endorsementgame.
The sum in circulation ranged from N10 million to N100 million in the quest to get them. But they are reported to have turned down the offer, insisting that the will of the people should be allowed to prevail.
All these iconic Nollywood stars allegedly rejected the millions thrown at them just to say “I endorse Tinubu”. However, none of them have spoken to confirm these social media reports.
