Umeh’s scholarship beneficiary inducted into Medical Lab. Council

ONITSHA, Anambra – One of the beneficiaries of the Anambra Central Scholarship Scheme initiated by Senator Victor Umeh in 2018, Miss Amara Gloria Mefor was on the 28th of July 2022, Inducted into the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria after successfully graduating from the Department of Medical Laboratory of Anambra State College of Health Technology, Obosi.

Miss Amara Mefor, an indigene of Umudioka in Dunukofia Local Government Area was one of the 70 Anambra Central youths (10 from each of the 7 LGAs in the Constituency) carefully screened and enlisted in 2018 with the aim of helping the intelligent but less-privileged young people within the Constituency attain proper Education.

The Scheme was designed to absorb 70 students annually. With the outcome of the 2019 Election, the already enlisted students were worried as to whether they would be able to move on in the pursuit of their academic goals.

But in an amazing act of compassion, Umeh, an erstwhile national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and Labour Party (LP) senatorial candidate for Anambra Central in the 2023 polls, further absorbed the 70 students and 4 others into his Victor Umeh Education Foundation (VUMEF) and continued to sponsor their Education alongside over 200 other beneficiaries of his free education scheme.

A renowned philanthropist, the LP stalwart has in his numerous humanitarian gestures, empowered hundreds of people via his Education Foundation including students in tertiary institutions across the Country as well as Masters Degree, PhD and those in basic education levels.

Notably, many successful beneficiaries of VUMEF are already doing excellent well in their respective engagements.
