IJESHA, Lagos, Nigeria – Hoodlums in large numbers early today invaded St Brigids Catholic Church, Ijesha, Surulere, Lagos and carted away INEC registration machines from the centre.
The hoodlums, we gathered overwhelmed Nigerians on queue, comprising ladies and young men with guns before overpowering officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC carrying out the registration before taking away the machines.
According to eye witness reports, policemen were not on the ground when the incident occurred but that they arrived St Brigids Catholic Church just after the incident.

They reportedly said, “ that they will not be alive to watch anyone vote for Peter Obi”, they were said to have shouted while snatching the machines.
“Hoodlums found their way into my parish at Ijesha Surulere and ran away with the Machines for PVC registration. Claiming that they won’t be alive to watch anyone vote for Peter Obi”, an eye witness who was at the scene for the registration exercise said.
