AWKA, Anambra, Nigeria – Following the high insecurity in Anambra state , the Assistant Commandant – General  of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (ACG), Zone K, Awka , Felix Oke,  has ordered Commands’ under the zone to embark on massive gathering of  credible intelligence to curb  activities of criminal minded elements within the zone.

He gave the order during his weekly briefing at the Zonal Command Headquarters Awka Anambra State on Wednesday. He condemned the breakdown of law and order witnessed in Anambra State of recent.

The ACG who described the situation in the state as appalling called on State Commandant’s of Anambra and Enugu  to strengthen Intelligence gathering mechanism in  their areas of responsibilities to fish out the perpetrators of crimes in the zone .

However, Mr. Oke advised officers and men to be security conscious and professional in the discharge of their duties.

According to him, they are being strictly monitored, warning that anyone found behaving contrary to laid down rules  will bear the consequences of his/her   action.

He also  reaffirmed the  commitment of the Zonal Command to deliver on the corps mandate in the Protection of Government Critical National Assets and Infrastructure and security of lives and property of the people of Anambra and Enugu at all times.

He praised  the Hourable Minister of Interior, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), and the Commandant General of NSCDC , Dr. Abubakar Audi for releasing the results of the Senior Promotion Examinations describing it as a morale booster to officers and men.

According to the ACG, the public  need to support NSCDC through the provision of useful information that would help in the detection and fight against crime and criminality within the Zone.
