LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian youths hungry to effect a drastic change in Nigeria have fixed Saturday, May 21 for a one million man march for the former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi to actualized his presidential ambition.
The event which is scheduled to hold nationwide by 10am is coming following the endorsement and the very high popularity of his candidacy among the Nigerian youths.
The event, put together by Like Minds for Peter Obi is entitled We March for Progress#TAKEBACKNAIJA.
Peter Obi, the only Presidential candidate in the race with untainted records both in public and private life is the most credible Nigerian with the desired integrity in the race with the best academic qualifications capable of fixing glaring problems confronting Nigeria.
Till date there is no other Nigeria Presidential aspirant who has used his testimonials in campaigning except MR PETER OBI….
Peter Obi is the only Presidential Aspirant in Nigeria who is telling Nigerians how he lifted up a State’s Education sector from being graded as number twenty-six (26th) in the national and external exams to number one(1st in the country) within 8 years of his tenure as the Executive Governor of Anambra State.
“Obi is the only one among the aspirants in Nigeria who is telling us how he cleared up more than 10 years arrears of salaries and pensions left behind by his predecessors in Anambra State and did not owe pensions or salaries while leaving office, did not borrow money for the State from any where and still left billions of Naira and millions of US dollars savings and investments for his State/successors in office…by this rare administrative ingenuity he has proven that with prudence, honestly, transparency and vision, one can achieve much with scarce resources and still make savings for the future.
“Obi is the only one telling us how he governed a State without borrowing money unnecessarily…. because he believes that when one borrows money without a sustainable plan to put it into profitable production, it will be mismanaged, squandered or stolen.
“Obi is the only one telling us how he midwifed an ongoing industrial revolution in Anambra State… starting with his Government midwifing the first car/vehicle manufacturing factory in Africa(the INNOSON MOTORS)….to attracting a Multi-Million dollar international beverage companies to the State, ….among others.
“Obi is the only one who is telling us how he beat administrative bottlenecks to start funding education through the schools directly which improved the standard of education in Anambra State and it is working till today.
“Obi is the only one among the current Presidential aspirants in Nigeria who is telling us how his making good decisions, drawing a productive administrative scale of preference and prioritizing public-interest in governance, helped him to put Anambra State on the global map of development….for instance(this is one example among many), as a Governor, Peter Obi ditched the perennial ritual of awarding the contract for provision/reinnovation of Street Lights at the Governor’s lodge to channeling the fund towards the provision of power generators to ALL the secondary schools(over 500 of that) in Anambra State, and the availability of the standby Power generators in these schools aided the students in the use of their laboratories and computer workshops, which were equipped by the same Peter Obi’s government….and also with the students in these schools enjoying Internet subscription that lasted up to 2years after Obi had left office. You can see how Anambra State became the first in external and international exams, during Obi’s tenure, from a disastrous 26th position when he took over the mantle of leadership in the then comatose State, it was not by luck….it was a product of good choices, commitment and hardwork….!
“ Obi was the only serving Governor in Nigeria to have convened a Congress of Senior Prefects in Anambra State, gave these Prefects his direct phone numbers while demanding that they should call him at any time to report directly to him if anything was not going right in their various schools….the result was that the secondary school system in Anambra State improved, took a better shape immediately and no one among the heads or Principals of these schools wanted to be caught napping. This speaks volume of Peter Obi’s competence and capacity in using unconventional ideas and methods to entrench good governance across board.
“Obi is the only one who is telling us how he completed all the road projects initiated by his predecessors in Anambra State as well as started and completed all his own road construction projects in the State, such that by the time he left office, Anambra State had the best road network in Nigeria…
“Obi is the only one who is telling us how he reduced the cost of governance and how his shutting down the extravagant cost of governance in Anambra State enabled him to make savings, build and equip a Teaching Hospital and numerous other health service delivery infrastructures from the scratch to completion….and so well equipped these hospital and other health facilities/Institutions in the State that open heart surgeries were carried out for the first time in the State, in this Teaching Hospital he built, before he left office as the Governor.
“Obi is the only one telling us how he used local policing to return sanity and security to Anambra State and chased all the hardened criminals, like the notorious “Evans the Kidnapper”, out of the State… when he was the Governor….
“Obi is the only one among the current Presidential aspirants in Nigeria who is showing us the international awards he received for himself and for Anambra State during and after his tenure as the Governor, including the State’s best performance in Millennium Development Goals, MDGs, among his peers in Nigeria.
“Obi is the only former Governor of a State in Nigeria who left the most financially liquid State, profit-yielding State investments and responsible handover note for his successor in the Office…
“Peter Obi is the only one among the current Presidential aspirants in Nigeria who is not desperate to become the President of Nigeria because of selfish reasons.
