ABUJA, Nigeria – The Abuja-Kaduna train has again been hit by another tragedy, this time terrorists who today targeted the train with explosives and in the process leaving passengers stranded on the road.
The is taking place just less than 48 hours after terrorist invaded Kaduna Airport, at a time that the All Progressive Congress, APC was having her national convention in Abuja, killing and aborting one of the flights.
One of the passengers aboard the train, Anas Iro Danmusa who witnessed the attack today raised the alarm.
According to him, the kidnappers planted explosives in the train engines and in the process damaged it, leaving passengers aboard helpless.
The incident, according to him occurred between Katari and Rijana. He said the passengers are so scared that they ran under the seats, following series of gunshots by the bandits
“Please this is an emergency. We are inside train at the moment. Kidnappers planted explosives and the train engines have been ruined. We are helpless.
“ Abuja to Kano train. Gunshots still being fired round around us. We are just under the seats, praying to God while waiting for help. Since 8 pm, we have been here. Btw Katari to Rijana. I am living witness”, Anas Iro Danmusa said.
We gathered that there are 970 passengers aboard the train adding that the army are already with the passengers.
