JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Things are slowly returning to normal with parents working full time from the office and kids back at school, no wonder families are looking forward to that well-earned weekend after the craziness of the week. What better way to get into the spirit of rest and relaxation than spending time together watching great movies.

HUAWEI Video opens up a new world of video streaming with thousands of movies and series to choose from.

We’ve done the hard work (it’s a tough job after all) and searched for some of the best movies to set the scene for a relaxing weekend filled with braais, poolside get-togethers and evenings packed with entertainment.

Playing With FireThis goofball family comedy sees a team of firefighters, led by Fire Superintendent Jake Carson, forced to babysit three troublesome, mischievous children who are separated from their parents following an accident. Starring ex-professional wrestler John Cena, this is a charming movie where there are enough laughs for the entire family to enjoy.

Sonic The Hedgehog: Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise, this tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr Robotnik and his plans for world domination. Featuring family favourite Jim Carrey, this is an enjoyable family-friendly film.

Hope Dances –  A multi-talented girl is torn between pursuing her mother’s aspirations of her becoming a ballerina and her father’s hopes of making her a baseball champion. It’s a powerful tale about pursuing your own dreams and the value of friendship.

Feel-good moviesAnything Is Possible: Nathan is separated from his mother when she goes missing during a trip to Japan to help after the tsunami. He is looked after by a rich philanthropist and develops his gift for music. This is a great feel-good movie that shows the value of family.

Daddy’s Home 2 – This sequel to the 2015 movie sees the stepfather with a heart of gold, Brad, and the biological dad with the perfect six-pack, Dusty, now proud co-dad’s working in unison to care for Megan and Dylan. In the follow-up, with Christmas just around the corner, the once-incompatible parents and their families decide to spend the holidays together. However, things take an unexpected turn when Dusty’s alpha-dad, Kurt and Brad’s touchy-feely father, Don, decide to pay a visit.

Instant Family – When a couple decides to start a family, they are inspired to pursue adoption through the foster care system. They feel like wonderful, altruistic people until they suddenly have three wild kids in their home. Now they must learn to love and parent children who have no interest in being parented in this heart-warming comedy.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a romantic comedy, starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. Andie Anderson (Hudson) is a writer for the women’s magazine Composure as the “How to”, subject-matter expert. After Andie’s best friend experiences yet another break-up, Andie is inspired to write a new article titled “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”, she will begin dating a man and drive him away within 10 days. Simultaneously, advertising executive Benjamin “Ben” Barry (McConaughey) the lead in a prestigious advertising campaign for a diamond company wagers he could make any woman fall in love with him.
