KUNMING, China – Not less than 132 passengers aboard a Chinese passenger plane are feared dead, following the crash of Boeing 737-800 in the hillside of Southern China.
The China Eastern Airline Boeing 737-800 took off from Kunming enroute Guangzhou but crashed Guangxi Province before bursting into flames.
It is not clear if any of the 132 passengers survived the crash.
President Xi Jingping who was worried about the development has ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash.
Emergency responders including fire fighters are currently at the scene of the crash. However, pictures shared by eyewitnesses showed the Boeing 737-800 burst into fire, with thick smoke bellowing into the skyline with debris of the plane scattered all over the place.
