OSUN, Nigeria – A Royal father in Osun State has earmarked over N20 million for his upcoming wedding and he has decided to write to Osun State Governor, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola for financial support to enable him carry out the marriage.
The letter, addressed to the governor, which was received by Office of the Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Affairs, was dated February 08, 2022.
In the letter, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo told the governor of his intention to marry a Princess from the Ado Bayero dynasty.
“I have the instruction of His Imperial Majesty, Oba(Dr) Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, the Olowu of Iwo to notify you of the Oluwu’s decision to marry a Princess from Kano Emirate to be precise Ado Bayero dynasty.
He made his request thus:
“I wish to remind your Excellency that this kind of royal wedding within two notable traditional institutions in Nigeria will require huge expenses, which necessitates support of the state government financially even logistically.
“However, the estimated amount for the event is above N20 million Naira. His Excellency, Oba Akanbi relies on you for necessary consideration and approval on this request”, he wrote.
