NYSC commends out gone Anambra corps members for meritorious service at 2021 election

ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – National Youth Service Corps NYSC Anambra state has commended 2021 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 corps members  towards their commitment in the successful conduct of the governorship election last year .

This commendation was given by the state NYSC coordinator Mrs. Yetunde Baberinnwa during the passing out parade of corps members of the 2021 Batch ‘A’  (Stream 1) Service Year  in Anambra State.

According to her, the corps members remained resilient even in the face of uncertainty ahead of the election.

“I want to commend their diligence and their patriotic commitment in the conduct of the Anambra state 2021 governorship election. The batch, despite the initial impression that the election was going to be bloody , they remained resolute in  their oath of working towards national unity and development. I am proud of them for their commitment and resilient in doing the right things during the election ,” she said.

The coordinator, however, said that all challenges resulting from their payments were promptly resolved. Baberinwa also thanked God for seeing the out gone corps members through to the achievement of yet another remarkable milestone in their lives.

“I recall your first moments here and how you were unsure of what to make out of the service year. How  it  seemed like an unattainable feat at the time. Today, as we count down to your last few minutes as  corps members, I see in the countenance on your faces and the  joyful atmosphere here , a sense of fulfillment at being able to conclude this important phase of your lives. Once more, accept our congratulations” she added.

She admonished them to  realize that their  certificate of National Service was not a guarantee that jobs will be running  into their waiting arms. The coordinator therefore urged them   to bring to bear all the lessons learnt during the service year, especially the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship training as a reliable means to self actualization.

“Eschew fraudulent acts,  get- rich- quick  schemes and other forms of corruption” she warned . She also announced that during the service year five corps members died  while  12 will repeat  their service year  for absenting themselves from camp

 According to her out of the five deaths, three died during childbirth, one died from natural death while the remaining one  died on road accident . Names of those who died while in service are  Onoh Bless An/21A/2153, Owoh Mercy An/21A/3270, Mbam Timothy An/21A/1653, Ozor Anthony An/21A/2098 and-Tabele Mercy An/21A/3378.
