GAROUA, Cameroon – Burkina Faso this evening joined Cameroon, to become the second West African team to cruise into the Semi Finals at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON, beating Tunisia 1-0.
It was an encounter that was both thrilling and laced with tension as both team tried as much as possible to outwit each other but it was Burkina Faso that eventually got the upper hand at the 35,000 capacity Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua.
And it was Dango Quattara’s shot in injury time during the first half that gave Burkina Faso the upper hand when he found back of the net.
It happened to be an encounter totally dominated by Tunisia, which recorded 60 percent ball possession against 40 by Burkina Faso, that eventually won the game.
However, Burkina Faso had 4 shots on target against 3 by Tunisia. Burkina Faso also received 3 yellow cards and one red card in the person of n the Dango Quatara against Tunisa that had just 1 yellow card.
But Tunisia had 10 corner kicks against 5 by Burkina Faso. Dango Quatara was sent off the field of play in the 82nd minutes.
