ONITSHA, Anambra – National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed a total of 2021 Corps Members to Anambra state for the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream 2 Orientation exercise in the State.
This was disclosed by the state Coordinator Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa during the swearing-in ceremony of corps members deployed to the state at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Unity Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mgbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area of the State, on Tuesday.
According to Baderinwa, out of the total numbers of 2021 registered in the state, 981 are males while 1, 216 are females
“At the close of the registration at Monday mid-night, a total of 2021 Prospective Corps Members were registered comprising 981 males and 1,216 females” she said. She also disclosed that one of the major pre requisites for gaining entrance into the orientation camp, was screening of all corps members for COVID-19.
She said that all the corps members admitted into the camp were screened and confirmed free of Covid 19 and fit for this exercise. She urged the corps members to take the advantages of skills acquisition training for the corps members to boost their development. Baderinwa said that the scheme would give priority to the skills acquisition in line with the Scheme directives.
She also stated that to enhance participatory administration in Camp, the Camp under her watch have nominated three perspective corps members as Corps Camp Directors in line with directive from our National Directorate Headquarters.
According to her , the camp directors are; Hua Stella, Inyeke Gideon and Ojo Precious. She said the camp directors will assist in the day to day administration of the Orientation Camp.
“I wish to congratulate the prospective Corps members for their success in their different institutions that qualified them for this stage. While I admonish you to embrace all the trainings and activities on Camp seriously, I also wish to remind you that life on Camp is regimented and can never be compared to what is obtainable in your homes, she added.
She commended the state governor, Willie Obiano and the Orientation Camp host communities, Umuawulu/Mgbaukwu for their hospitality. The oath taking was performed by the State Chief Judge, Honourable Justice O.M. Anyachebelu.
