ABUJA, Nigeria – Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa, Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, NIHOTOUR, has been conferred with the NANTA Eminent Persons Award for his Institute’s emergence as the best International Air Travel Association (IATA) training school in the country.
This was contained in a statement signed by NIHOTOUR’S Director of Media and Public Relations, Mr. Ahmed Sule.
At the Eminent Persons Award event in Abuja, President of NANTA (National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies), Mrs. Susan Akporaiye, extolled the virtues, dynamism and resilient efforts of Kangiwa at repositioning the Institute within a very short time of his assumption as Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for better training service delivery in the industry.
She pointed out in particular the outreach initiative of Kangiwa in collaborating and partnering with key players and critical stakeholders in both public and private sectors of the industry to deliver on the mandate of the institute for high level skilled development of professionals and key personnel to man the nation’s travel tourism and hospitality sector.
Mrs. Akporaiye who said the industry was proud to have Kangiwa on the saddle at NIHOTOUR and for changing the narratives for better service delivery, said the Award conferred on the Institute was a well-deserved one and urged him to continue with the good work, the foundation which he has laid to bring professionalism in the industry in line with global best practices.
Receiving the Award, Kangiwa thanked the leadership of NANTA under its amiable National President, Mrs. Akporaiye for finding him and the Institute worthy of the Award, noting that this will spur him to do much more in bringing about sanity in professional practices and conducts in the travel tourism and hospitality industry of the country.
He noted that the successes achieved that earned him the award wouldn’t have been possible without the support and cooperation of stakeholders and industry key players, adding that the Institute needs more of the support, cooperation and collaboration to move the industry to an amiable world class level that Nigeria deserves.
The Eminent Persons Award is the initiative of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies to recognize and reward industry players who have shown exemplary commitment, resilience and steadfastness in both occupational and professional service conduct in the nation’s travel tourism industry.
