LAGOS, Nigeria – Nollywood star, Foluke Daramola has broken her silence on the purported endorsement of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President.
The actress who addressed in a video on the social media said what transpired has nothing to do with politics. According to her, it was just a group agitation for peace and unity of Nigeria.
She said that although she remains a card carrying member of the All Progressive Congress, APC, the group neither came out in the capacity of endorsing Asiwaju for President nor did it come out as Nollywood.
She explained that though some actors in Nollywood were present, it has nothing to do with Nollywood and that she was not paid to embark on any campaign for anybody
“What happened yesterday was a group agitating for peace and unity in Nigeria. Though I am a card carrying member of the APC, we did not go in the capacity of endorsing Asiwaju for President and it was not a Nollywood thing.
“Some Nollywood people were there, but it was not a Nollywood thing, so I don’t know where this is coming from and I was not paid for this. It was meant for unity and peace in Nigeria. Nothing more, nothing less, it has nothing to do with politics”, she said.
