IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 209 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 212, 359.
But out of the 212, 359 confirmed cases, 204, 010 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 900 patients could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 5449 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while one patient died in the last 24 hours.
“NCDC: 209 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Gombe- 109, FCT – 21, Rivers – 21, Lagos – 13, Bauch1 -9, Ondo- 9, Plateau -9, Enugu – 7, Benue -5, Oyo – 4, Ekiti – 1, Ogun -1; 212, 359 confirmed; 204, 010 discharged; 2, 900 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 248,202,315 all time cases of Coronavirus pandemic globally, 5,024,363 patients are already dead as a result of the pandemic, while 7,139,906,433 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the Centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 46, 252, 689 all time infections, while 750, 430 lives are no more(80, 377 new and 1800 deaths#), followed by India, which has documented 34, 321,025 confirmed cases, while 459, 652 lives have perished(12, 885 new and 461 deaths#) and Brazil, which has documented 21, 835,785 all time cases, while 608, 235 patients have passed on(14, 661 new and 164 deaths#).
The United Kingdom has documented 9, 215, 691 confirmations, while 141, 609 patients have died from the virus, (41, 538 new and 219 deaths#) followed by Russia, which has reported 8, 533,706 all time cases, while 238,784 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(39, 117 new and 1165 deaths#) and Turkey, which has reported 8, 121, 196 total cases and 71, 298 deaths(29, 764 new and 246 deaths#).
France is still the 7th country most hit with 7, 282,823 all time infections, while 118, 758 lives have been claimed by the Coronavirus(10, 230 new and 38 deaths#), followed by Iran, which has reported 5, 954, 962 all time cases, while 126,763 lives have passed on (10, 363 new 147 deaths#) and Argentina, which has documented 5, 292,549 all time cases, while 116, 029 patients are no more(1264 new and 19 deaths#).
Spain is still the 10th country most hit, reporting 5, 019,255 total cases of Coronavirus infections, while 87, 462 patients could not make it alive(2287 new and 39 deaths#) and South Africa the most afflicted country in Africa. South Africa has reported 2, 922,735 all time cases, while 89, 222 other patients could not make it alive(344 new and 25 deaths#).
