Nigeria reports 65 cases of Coronavirus

LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 65 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in the country, bringing all time cases to 212, 511.

But out of the 212, 511 total cases, 204, 184 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 902 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 5425 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic.

“NCDC: 65 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria: Kaduna -20, Gombe -10, FCT -9,  Rivers -9, Bauchi -6, Lagos -3, Delta -2, Edo -2, Kano -2, Oyo -2: 212,511 confirmed; 204,184 discharged; 2, 902 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now 249, 153,593 total cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 5,038,391 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 7, 191, 734, 282  doses of vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted, reporting  46,436,065 all time cases, 753,930 patients have passed on, followed by India, which has documented 34, 344,683 confirmations, while 460, 265 patients are now dead and Brazil, which has reported 21,862,458 all time cases and 609,060 deaths.

The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit with 9, 286,618  all time cases, while 142, 019 patients have kicked the bucket, followed by Russia with 8, 573,323 all time cases and 239, 943 deaths, and Turkey now  reporting 8, 178, 871 all time infections, while 71, 724 patients have given up the ghost.

France is still the 7th country most hit by the pandemic, now reporting 7, 301,303 confirmed cases, while 118, 830 patients could not make it alive, followed by Iran which has registered 5, 973,457 all time cases, while 127, 053 lives have been wasted and Argentina, which has documented 5, 295, 260 all time cases and 116, 083 deaths.

Spain is the 10th country most hit with 5, 025,639 all time cases and 87, 504 deaths and South Africa, which remains the most afflicted country in Africa.   South Africa is now reporting 2, 923,393 all time cases and 89, 295 deaths.
