PORT HARCOURT, Rivers, Nigeria – The coast is now clear for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to go ahead with its national convention slatted for the Eagle Square, Abuja, on Saturday.
This follows the judgment of the three-man Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt, just as delegates make their way into Abuja ahead of the convention.
The Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt dismissed the suit filed by embattled Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus seeking an interlocutory injunction to stop the PDP from going ahead with the convention.
Ruling on the suit, Justice Gabriel Kolawole described Secondus ’ suit as an after-thought and nothing but an abuse of court process.
His lordship blamed him for not acting when his ward and local governments suspended him until now, when the PDP had concluded on its convention.
He urged the party to go on with the convention as planned .
