ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Chairman of All Progressive Congress APC ,Anambra state, Chief Basil Ejidike has hinted that in the next few weeks powerful politicians in other political parties will join the party in the state.
Ejidike gave the hint during the APC stakeholders and leaders meeting held in Awka Anambra in preparation for the November 6 governorship poll.
According to him, almost every reasonable politician in Anambra state has come to realised that APC is a party to beat in the state and they are joining enmass.
He also said that by the look of things, Anambra state is becoming a one-party APC state .
Ejidike enjoined the stakeholders to go into their various wards and locals, and mobilise people for the party’s victory in the November 6 poll.
According to him, the party is only faced with the task of getting to the government house, and it can only be achieved by the level of membership mobilisation at the grassroots.
” Our party is intact, united, focused and we have gotten our candidate, very credible and experienced one. The only task we have now is how to mobilise people to vote for our candidate” he said
He also appealed to those who might have been offended in one way or the other in the party to forgive and forget and work in unity towards the victory of the party.
Also in a communiqué read by the spokesperson of Andy Uba campaign organisation Mr Chibuzor Obiako after the meeting, the party urged members to support Andy Uba and his deputy Emeka Okafor to achieve victory for the party.
The party condemned the campaign of calumny by opposition parties against Senator Andy Uba just to smear his character and curry votes.
According to the party, Uba has built a reputation that cannot be tarnished by mischievous campaigns.
The party called on the good people of Anambra to be patient as APC would clean up the mess by the present government in the state, immediately it assumes office.
