Court declares invasion of Igboho’s home arbitrary aggression

IBADAN, Oyo, Nigeria- An Oyo High Court sitting in Ibadan, has awarded N20 billion in favour of incarcerated agitator for Yoruba Nation, Mr. Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho.

Justice Ladiran Akintola of Oyo State High Court awarded the sum against the Department of State Service, DSS for unlawful invasion of  the home of the agitator in Soka, Ibadan on July 1, 2021.

The court also awarded N2 million as cost in favour of Sunday Igboho.  Igboho had through his lawyers filed an application before the court, seeking 500 billion as examplary damages for unlawful invasion of his home.

The judge who tongue-lashed the DSS,  declared the invasion as  illegal  and that the DSS  displayed “arbitrary aggression and prejudices” against  the leader of those agitating for self determination for Yoruba land.
