ONITSHA, Anambra – All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA has alleged that four Anambra State  Commissioners and 12 lawmakers  were paid N300 million to leave the party and  destabilize the state.

The National co-ordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, in a statement on Thursday made available to journalists in Awka, the Anambra State Capital said the defectors were given the money to defect to the All Progressives Congress as well as to destabilise the state.

He warned  the people  to be wary of money bags who would soon storm the state with deep pockets to buy their consciences. “The six saboteur lawmakers, four serving Commissioners and others were lured with 300million naira by the  Andy Uba to be part of the plot to set Anambra on fire.

“ I reliably gathered that the six lawmakers that defected to APC in a video that is trending online were given a 300million naira bribe to share. They are not alone because my information revealed that six other lawmakers, four serving Commissioners and others got their share of the 300million.

“The assignment given to them was to destabilise our peaceful State and set it on fire to pave way for the emergence of Andy Uba as Anambra State Governor. We must see it as a patriotic duty to nip the evil plot of setting our State on fire in the bud because we don’t have another State to call our own.

“Those that pocketed the 300million bribe money and betrayed the Anambra people must be put to shame. We must not allow them to achieve the evil task that was given to them by the  Andy Uba and the Hope Uzodimgba” he said

According to him, the Anambra people must reject  Andy Uba for having accepted to approve open grazing in Anambra if he becomes Governor. He said that would be total colonisation of Anambra State if they succeed in capturing power in the state. Let’s reject Andy Uba the same way God admonished us, humans, to reject the devil and his handiwork. Soludo is the only person that can sustain the current peace and progress in our beloved State hence the reason why we must ensure his emergence as Governor Obiano’s successor on November 6th.

Reacting to the allegation, the Anambra State chairman of APC chief Basil Ejidike described the APGA allegation and laughable and baseless. According to him, the allegation is a sung of a sinking ship that cannot be taken seriously. He said the lawmaker, commissioners and others left the party because they realised that APGA is a failure.

“We don’t need to pay anybody money to leave a failed party. APGA has failed the Anambra and they knew that they are a failure. More are still leaving and they are leaving because is a failed government” he said. Reacting also, one of the defector’s lawmakers, honourable members representing Nnewi North at the State House of Assembly Hon. Nonso Okafor described the allegation as funny and a cheap blackmail

Hon. Okafor who was a former governorship aspirant on the platform of APGA said “he who alleges must prove. I will rather leave on principle than be paid. APGA was my party and I will try my best to avoid the temptation to join issues. I have moved on for good and wish the party well. Thank you” The six-state lawmakers are  Hon. Nonso Okafor, representing Nnewi North, Timothy Ifedioramma, representing Njikoka 1, Cater D. N Umeoduagu, representing Aguata 1, Lawrence Ezeudu, representing Dunukofia, Arthur Chiekwu, representing Idemmih North and Edward Ibuzo, representing Onisha North 2
