LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 650 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 190, 983. But out of the 190, 983 confirmed cases, 178, 047 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 361 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 575 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 53 patients died in the last 24 hours.
“NCDC: 650 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria: Lagos – 261, Ondo – 95, Rivers – 80, Akwa Ibom – 59, Oyo – 24, Ekiti – 22, Delta – 20, Edo- 18, Enugu – 15, Bayelsa – 14, Osun – 11, Kaduna – 8, Plateau – 7, Kano – 6, FCT- 5, Gombe – 3, Abia – 2 ; 190, 983 confirmed; 178, 047 discharged ; 2, 361 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 215, 840, 296 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4,491, 765 patients have passed on, while 5, 164, 889, 525 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United State remains the most afflicted, reporting 38, 749, 506 confirmed cases, while 637,174 patients have passed on(238, 461 new and 2,654 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 32, 649, 947 all time cases, while 437, 370 patients are no more(46, 759 new and 509 deaths*) and Brazil with 20, 703, 906 all time infections, while 578, 326 patients are already dead(27, 345 new and 761 deaths*).
France has come up as the 4th country most hit, reporting 6, 813, 516 confirmed cases and 114, 453 deaths(35, 383 new and 177 deaths*), followed by Russia with 6, 766, 667 all time cases, while 177, 679 patients have kicked the bucket(18, 986 new and 775 deaths*) and the United Kingdom which has reported 6, 729, 899 all time cases, while 132, 699 patients have been killed by the virus(32, 328 new and 133 deaths*).
Turkey is the 7th country most afflicted, reporting 6, 311, 607 confirmations, while 55, 713 patients have died from the pandemic, followed by Argentina with 5, 167, 733 all time cases, while 111, 270 patients are no more(4807 and 153 deaths*) and Colombia which had registered 4, 901, 163 all time cases and 124, 648 deaths(2078 new and 81 deaths*).
Spain remains the 10th country most hit, reporting 4, 831, 809 all time infections, while 84, 000 patients have died and South Africa, which has documented 2, 757, 191 all time cases, while 81, 461 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(10, 173 new and 274 deaths*).
