APC gatekeepers hindering Sanwo-Olu’s performance in Lagos

LAGOS, Nigeria – A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief Fouad Oki  has said that the gatekeepers of the APC are hindering performance of the sitting governor of Lagos State, Mr.Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Fouad Oki, who was speaking on a  radio programme hosted by Jimi Disu also criticized the selection process that led to production of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as governor of Lagos State and that he will do the same if the same process is repeated in 2023.

Fouad Oki criticized the GAC of APC, whom he said has no base in the organ of the party. He said members of the GAC, about 11 of them have aged, with average age of 80, stressing that they ought to have retired and leave the stage for young people who have the strength to carry on.

Fouad Oki  who said the recent local government election was a referendum on the APC that it is no longer popular in Lagos described the performance of LASIEC as zero and condemned an individual whom he said took up the gauntlet to defend LASIEC even when he was not paid to do so.

He equally condemned LASIEC for setting up Polling Centres in the home of  a royal father. He described the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as a bunch of lazy people who want to reap where they did not sow,  stressing that there was an opportunity during the LG election which PDP failed to utilize.

Fouad Oki said that though he has become a rebel in the APC, he has no plan of leaving and that even if he is sanctioned by the party, he will only retire into advisory role. He said he has no other party to go to.
