LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 460 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 191, 805. But out of the 191, 805 confirmed cases, 178, 492 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 455 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 858 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 1 person died in the last 24 hours.
“NCDC: 460 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Rivers – 164, Lagos – 139, Edo – 61, FCT – 37, Bayelsa – 20, Oyo – 14, Plateau – 7, Ogun – 6, Anambra – 4, Benue- 4, Enugu – 2, Cross River – 1, Kaduna – 1: 191, 805 confirmed; 178, 492 discharged; 2, 455 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 216, 994, 214 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4, 508, 317 patients have died, while 5,234, 424,857 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered based on the statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country, reporting 39, 026, 744 confirmed cases, while 638, 604 patients have died from the virus(234, 300 new and 1093 deaths*), followed by India with 32, 737, 939 confirmed cases, while 438, 210 lives have been snatched by the pandemic(42, 909 new and 380 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 20, 752, 281 all time cases, while 579, 574 patients have passed on(10,466 new and 266 deaths*)
France remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 6, 834, 834 all time cases and 114,582 deaths(7688 new and 76 deaths*), followed by Russia which has registered 6, 803, 323 all time infections, while 179, 233 patients have died(17, 858 new and 776 deaths*) and the United Kingdom which has documented 6, 789, 173 confirmed cases, while 132, 808 patients are no more alive(26, 269 new and 48 deaths*).
Turkey has come up as the 7th country most afflicted with 6, 366, 408 confirmed cases and 56, 458 deaths(36, 889 new and 500 deaths*), followed by Argentina which has reported 5, 173, 531 confirmed cases and 111,383 deaths(2073 new and 59 deaths*) and Colombia, which has reported 4, 907, 264 all time infections, while 124, 883 patients are no more(3960 new and 140 deaths*).
Spain remains the 10th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 4, 847, 298 all time cases and 84, 146 deaths(14, 779 new and 146 deaths*) and South Africa with 2, 770,575 all time cases, while 81, 830 patients have passed on(5644 new and 235 deaths*).
