LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 471 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 178, 086. But out of the 178, 086 confirmed cases, 165, 763 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 187 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 136 active cases of Coronavirus, while 2 patients died in the last 24 hours.
“NCDC: 471 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos – 219, Akwa Ibom – 102, Ondo- 37, Oyo – 33, Kwara – 19, Rivers – 16, Ekiti – 15, Delta – 14, Ogun – 7, FCT – 5, Niger – 2, Edo – 1, Katsina – 1: 178, 086 confirmed; 165, 763 discharged, 2, 187 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 202, 619, 303 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic globally, 4, 292, 478 patients are already dead, while 4, 339, 557, 628 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 35,757, 980 confirmed cases, while 616, 816 patients have passed on(27, 420 new and 106 deaths*), followed by India, which has documented 31, 934, 455 confirmations, while 427,862 patients are no more(39, 070 new and 491 deaths*) and Brazil which has now registered 20, 151,779 cases of the pandemic, while 562,752 patients have died from the virus(43, 033 new and 990 deaths*).
France is the 4th country most afflicted 6, 371,349 confirmed cases, while 112, 407 patients are no more(20, 450 new and 28 deaths*) , followed by Russia, which has documented 6,362,641 all time infections and 162, 109 deaths(22, 271 new and 766 deaths*) and the United Kingdom which has reported 6, 097, 994 confirmed cases, while 130,624 patients are no more(27, 215 new and 39 deaths*).
Turkey remains the 7th country most hit, now reporting 5, 895, 841 all time infections, while 52, 088 patients are no more(25, 100 new and 112 deaths*), followed by Argentina which has reported 5, 012, 754 confirmed cases while 107, 302 patients have passed on(9803 new and 89 deaths*) and Colombia with 4, 834, 634 all time infections and 122,277 deaths(6051 new and 190 deaths*).
Spain has come up as the 10th country most afflicted, reporting 4, 588, 132 confirmed cases, while 82, 006 patients are no more and South Africa(17) in the league, reporting 2, 533,466 all time cases, while 74, 813 patients have kicked the bucket(9978 new and 190 deaths*).
