PIETERMARITZBURG, South Africa – Former President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma has lost another attempt to set himself free from his recent sentence to 15 months for contempt of court.

Jacob Zuma who has been arrested and now at Escourt Correctional Service Facility in Kwazulu Natal Province had approached a South African High Court, sitting in Pietermaritzburg for stay of execution of his arrest.

Recall that the constitutional court had ordered the  South African police to arrest Zuma if he fails to submit himself to the correctional centre in five days.

Ruling on his application today, the high court dismissed his application for lack of merit, having  been sentenced by the Constitutional Court.

His lordship, Justice Bhekisiza Mnguni, who delivered the judgment simply said Jacob Zuma’s application has been dismissed.

The application was filed by Zuma’s legal team hoping to stop his arrest and incarceration.
