LAGOS, Nigeria – It was the turn of Akunna to exit the Nigerian Idol music show on Sunday, July 4, 2021, but it was a spectacular exit for the lady who also had the privilege of thrilling the audience and her performance was superb.
The exit of Akunna now leaves Francis and Kingdom, the man from Bayelsa to struggle for the grand prize. At this stage, votes are very key in the progress of any of the contestant.

Akunna secured 14 percent of 11 million votes to come third, hence her exit, France secured 16 percent of total votes to become 2nd while Kingdom got a whopping 69 percent of total votes to emerge as the best so far.
Despite exiting the stage, Akunna was not disappointed. In her interview on stage, she thanked the organizers for the opportunity and urged his team not to be discouraged.
“I want to say thank you, team Akunna, don’t feel bad. To be here, I am grateful. I am so grateful from the top 10 up to this stage”, she said.
Akunna is a Corporate and Entertainment Lawyer, from a family where everyone has an amazing voice. She spends most of her time singing in the bathroom and also showcases her vocal talent on her social media platforms. Akunna believes the world deserves to hear her sing and says it’s about time she commercialises her amazing gift.
Kingdom will however need such a massive vote to win the grand prize next Sunday.
Ironically, Francis and Kingdom were in the same group when the judges, comprising DJ Sose, Sheyi Shay and Obi Asika started paring the musicians at the group stages.
Kingdom moves into grand finale with a superb performance of theme song for the film, (Lion King In the jungle), Lion sleeps tonight” originally performed by Lebo M. It was simply an incredible performance as Sheyi Shay said. She advised him to continue to aim high but not to turn into some kind of muster.
Francis, is a very talented artiste, whose voice has been described as magical by the judges. “You have the voice, confidence and delivery on stage”, Obi Osika said.
