LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 74 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, making a total of 167, 692 cases. But out of the 167, 692 confirmed cases, 164, 273 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 121 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 1298 active cases of Coronavirus and one death in the last 24 hours.
“NCDC: 74 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-49; Ondo-12; Oyo-3; Rivers-3; Kaduna-2; Ekiti-1; FCT-1; Gombe-1; Jigawa-1 and Ogun-1: 167,692 confirmed; 164,273 discharged and 2,121 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 182, 554,935 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3,953, 686 lives have passed on while 3,085, 351, 478 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 33, 677, 411 confirmed cases, while 605, 010 patients have died(15, 425 new and 328 deaths*)and India with 30, 411,634 all time cases, while 399, 459 patients have been killed by the virus(48, 786 new and 1005 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 18, 622,304 all time cases while 520,095 other patients have passed on(108, 999 new and 4, 110 deaths*).
France is the 4th country most hit, reporting 5, 839, 929 all time infections, while 111, 273 patients are no more(2668 new and 29 deaths*) and Russia which has reported 5, 472, 722 all time infections, while 133, 633 lives have perished as a result of the pandemic(23, 128 new and 660 deaths*) and Turkey which has documented 5, 430, 940 all time infections, while 49, 774 patients have passed on(5288 new and 42 deaths*).
The United Kingdom is the 7th country most hit, reporting 4, 844, 872 all time infections, while 128, 426 lives are no more(27, 638 new and 22 deaths*) and Argentina with 4, 491, 551 confirmations and 94, 772 lives are now dead(43, 850 new and 1104 deaths*) and Colombia with 4, 269, 297 all time cases, while 107, 137 patients have been killed by the virus.
Italy has come up as the 10th country most affected, reporting 4, 260, 788 all time cases, while 127, 587 patients have lost their lives to the virus(879 new and 21 deaths*) and South Africa with 1, 995, 556 confirmed cases, while 61, 029 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(21, 584 new and 382 deaths*).
