LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 558 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 178, 821. But out of the 178, 821 total cases,  164, 930 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 141 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 750 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while 7 patients died in the last 24 hours.

 

“NCDC: 558 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos- 376, Oyo – 33, Akwa Ibom – 26,  FCT -22, Imo – 15,  Bayelsa – 15,  Bayelsa – 13, Ekiti – 13, Kano -12, Ogun -11, Plateau -11, Delta – 9, Jigawa – 6, Rivers – 4, Zamfara4, Edo – 2, Ebony- 1: 178, 821 confirmed; 164, 930 discharged; 2, 141 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

 

Globally, there are now 196, 634,  210  confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 4,199, 017  patients have passed on, while 4,002, 385, 080 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been  administered globally based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

 

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted, reporting    34,751,045  confirmed cases, while 612, 122  patients have passed on(91,513 new and 394 deaths*) followed by India, which has reported  31, 572, 344  confirmed cases, while 423,217 patients are no more alive(87, 739 new and 1195 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 19, 839, 369    confirmation while 554,497 patients have died(90, 296 new and 2662 deaths*).

 

France has reported 6, 142,282  confirmed cases and 111,951 deaths from the virus(25, 571 new cases and 28 deaths*)  followed by Russia with 6, 138, 969  all time infections and 154,404 deaths and(22,720 new and 784 deaths*) the United Kingdom which has documented 5,828, 318 cases, while 129, 809 patients have been killed by the virus(31, 049 new and 91 deaths*).

 

Turkey has stepped up as the 7th country most hit, reporting 5, 682, 630  all time infections  and 51, 184  deaths(22, 161 new and 60 deaths*), followed by Argentina which has reported  4, 905, 925  all time infections, while 105, 113 lives have been wasted(29, 998 new and 761 deaths*) and Colombia, which has reported 4, 766, 829 all time cases, while 120, 126 patients have died(19, 054 new and  644 deaths*).

 

Spain is now the 10th country most hit with 4, 422,291 all time infections, while 81, 442 patients have passed out(26, 689 new and 46 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 2, 422, 151 all time cases, while 71, 431 patients have passed on(30, 928 new and 2093 deaths*).
