LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 40 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 167, 732. But out of the 167, 732 cases, 164, 369 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 121 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 1242 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic.
“NCDC 40 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-36; Rivers-2; Gombe-1 and Kano-1; 167,732 confirmed; 164,369 discharged and 2,121 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 182, 875, 305 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 3, 959,251 patients are already dead, while 3, 125,174, 026 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, United States.
According to the centre, the United States still retains the highest total figure as the most afflicted country, reporting 33, 689, 589 all time cases, while 605, 291 patients have died since the outset of the pandemic(12, 178 new and 281 deaths*) , followed by India which has documented 30, 458, 251 all time cases, while 400, 312 patients are no more(46, 617 new and 853 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 18, 622, 304 all time cases and 520, 095 deaths.
France is the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 842, 612 all time infections, while 111, 297 patients have died(2683 new and 24 deaths*) , followed by Russia, which has documented 5,495, 513 all time cases and 134, 302 deaths(22, 791 new and 669 deaths*) and Turkey which has reported 5, 435, 831 cases while 49, 829 patients have died(4891 new and 55 deaths*).
The United Kingdom is now the 7th country most afflicted with 4, 871,735 confirmations, while 128, 453 patients have died(26,863 new and 27 deaths*), followed by Argentina, which has reported 4, 491,551 all time infections and 94, 772 deaths and Colombia with 4, 269, 297 cases, while 107, 137 patients have died.
Italy has come down as the 10th country most hit with 4, 261, 582 all time infections, while 127, 615 lives are no more(794 new and 28 deaths*) and South Africa now (19) with 2,019, 826 all time cases and 61, 332 deaths(24, 270 new and 303 deaths*).
