LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 48 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 166, 730.
Out of the 166,730 confirmed cases, 162,584 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,117 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 2029 active cases of Coronavirus.
“NCDC @ NCDC gov 48 new cases of COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-16, Yobe-16, Kano-8, Gombe-3, Akwa Ibom-1, Delta-1, FCT-1, Kaduna-1 and Rivers-1; 166,730 confirmed; 162,584 discharged ; 2,117 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now 172, 323, 906 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3, 705, 325 patients have lost their lives while 2, 042, 839, 872 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered globally based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most affected, now reporting 33,339, 375 all time cases, while 596, 943 patients have lost their lives(17, 191 new and 611 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 28, 574, 350 all time cases, while 340, 702 others are now dead(132, 364 new and 7713 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 16, 803, 472 all time infections, while 469, 388 others are no more(83, 391 new and 1682 deaths*).
France remains the 4th country most hit, now reporting 5, 762, 632 all time cases, while 110, 078 others have kicked the bucket(7083 new and 88 deaths*), followed by Turkey with 5, 276, 468 all time cases, while 47, 976 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(6169 new and 94 deaths*) and Russia which has reported 5, 049, 210 all time infections, while 120, 974 patients are no more(8820 new and 370 deaths*).
The United Kingdom remains the 7th country most affected, reporting 4, 521, 919 all time cases, while 128, 086 other patients are no more(6142 new and 11 deaths*), followed by Italy which has documented 4, 227, 719 confirmed cases, while 126, 415 others are no more(2556 new and 73 deaths*) and Argentina which has documented 3, 884, 447 all time cases, while 79, 873 lives have been sacrificed by the pandemic(32, 291 new and 553 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th most affected country, reporting 3, 704, 685 confirmed cases, while 89, 082 others are no more(2995 new and 117 deaths*), and South Africa which has documented 1,686, 041 confirmed cases, while 56, 832 patients have already lost their lives to the pandemic(16, 810 new and 231 deaths*).
