LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 26 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 166,756. But out of the 166,756 confirmed cases, 162,994 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,117 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 1, 645 active cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
“NCDC @NCDC gov 26 new cases of COVID19Nigeria; Akwa Ibom-8, Cross River-8, Lagos-8, Bayelsa-1 and Kaduna-1; 166,756 confirmed; 162,994 discharged; 2,117 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now 172, 712, 949 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic, worldwide, while 3, 715, 182 lives have been killed by the pandemic, while 2, 077, 591, 629 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country globally, reporting 33,352,532 confirmed cases, while 597, 295 lives have been lost(13, 157 new and 352 deaths*), followed by India, which has reported 28, 694, 879 confirmed cases, while 344, 082 lives have been lost(120, 529 new and 3380 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 16, 841, 408 all time cases, while 470, 842 patients have died from the pandemic(37, 936 new and 1454 deaths*).
France is the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 5,769,291 all time infections, 110, 135 patients have kicked the bucket (6659 new and 78 deaths*) , followed by Turkey with 5, 282, 594 confirmed cases, while 48,068 patients are no more(6126 new and 92 deaths*) and Russia which has registered 5,058, 221 all time cases, while 121, 365 lives have been wasted by the pandemic(9011 new and 391 deaths*).
The United Kingdom is the 7th country most afflicted, reporting 4, 527, 577 confirmations while 128, 099 patients have lost their lives(5658 new and 1013 deaths*), followed by Italy which has documented 4, 230, 153 all time infections, while 126, 472 patients have died(2434 new and 57 deaths*) and Argentina, which has reported 3, 915, 397 all time cases, while 80, 411 lives are no more(30,950 new and 538 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country most afflicted, reporting 3, 706, 934 all time cases, while 89, 203 others are now dead (2249 new and 121 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 1, 686, 041 all time infections while 56, 832 patients have been killed by the pandemic.
