ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa on Wednesday took over from Mr. Kehinde Aremu as Anambra State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator. Baderinwa, a native of Ondo State who was Deputy Director, Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, Abuja replaced Mr. Kehinde Aremu who would be resuming as the Human Resource Management Department at the headquarters.
Addressing management staff of the scheme at the state Secretariat, Awka Anambra State capital, the new Coordinator said she was happy with the work Aremu has done in the state.
“I have known Aremu for a long time. We went to the same school. Anytime I have any sensitive issues that I am worried about, I will want to discuss with him, and I will call him, whatever he tells me, I am okay .
“So when this posting came out and I saw it is Anambra, I had rest of mind because I know I have a backbone. Since my arrival, I have been feeling very comfortable because I know I am at home. This is my first time in Anambra, though I have passed through the state to other states, “she said .
She also assured of a transparent and open door policy in the administration of the affairs of the scheme in the state. Baderinwa solicited support from members of staff to lift the organisation to a greater height .
She added, “I have always been plain and simple with an open door policy. There is nothing to hide. Though Aremu has set a very high bar, but I know we can take it to the next level.
“All I need is your maximum cooperation so that Anambra can be the pacesetter in the entire NYSC. I appreciate all of you and believe with your support we’ll go places because there’s no success without a team.”
Earlier, the outgoing Coordinator, Aremu who described his three -years stay in the state as amazing, attributed the success to the support from the entire staff. He urged the staff to extend same to his successor .
“The three years I’ve spent here is amazing. I appreciate you all, but my joy will be complete if we keep the standard higher. One of my motivational slogans is, ‘one thing I do daily is to look for better ways of doing things, how I can improve from yesterday irrespective of the challenges. I aspire to do better.
“I throw that challenge to all of us. Let’s keep improving, let’s make it deliberate and personal ethos that you’ll continually seek improvement in life, especially on this job.
“I’m truly happy to have worked with all of you here. I thank you for the show of love and affection. I pray God to replenish you. I assure you that you have a brother in Abuja. Anywhere Anambra matter rises, be sure of my interventions. Please extend the same maximum cooperation such that whatever we achieved here will be a child’s play. We don’t say good-bye in NYSC.”he said
