LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 17 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in the country to 166, 534.
But out of the 166, 534 all time cases, 159, 935 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,099 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 4, 500 active cases.

Globally, there are now 170, 865, 698 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 3,552, 788 patients have passed on while 1, 928, 759, 914 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered globally based on the latest statistics from the Centre from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 33, 282, 941 confirmed cases, while 595, 085 lives have been lost, followed by India which has documented 28, 175, 044 active cases, while 331, 895 patients have lost their lives and Brazil which has reported 16, 545, 554 all time cases, while 462, 791 patients have been killed by the pandemic.
France remains the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 738, 636 all time infections, while 109, 824 patients have kicked the bucket, followed by Turkey which has registered 5, 256, 516 all time infections, while 47, 656 lives have been wasted by the pandemic and Russia which has reported 5, 022, 881 all time infections, while 119, 830 patients are no more.
The United Kingdom is the 7th country most hit, reporting 4, 506, 331 all time cases, while 128, 045 lives have been lost, followed by Italy with 4, 220, 304 confirmed cases, while 126, 221 patients could not make it alive in Italy and Argentina which has reported 3, 781, 784 confirmations, while 78,093 lives are no more.
Germany, the 10th most affected country has reported 3, 692, 908 all time cases, while 88, 677 lives have been lost to the pandemic and South Africa which has documented 1, 669, 231 all time cases, while 56, 601 lives have been lost to the pandemic.
