LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 41 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 165,702. But out of the 165,702 confirmed cases,  156,412 patients have been treated and discharged while  2,066 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria  with 7222 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-16, Yobe-14, Rivers-3, FCT-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Bayelsa-2 and Edo-1, making a total of 41 new cases.

“NCDC @NCDC gov 41 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-16, Yobe-14, Rivers-3, FCT-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Bayelsa-2 and Edo-1: 165,702 confirmed; 156,412 discharged; 2,066 deaths”, NCDC has announced.

On the global scene, the United States is  still in the lead, recording 32, 913, 784 confirmed cases, while 585,571 patients have passed on followed by India with 24, 372, 907 confirmed cases, while 266,207 lives have been lost and Brazil which has reported 15, 519, 525 all time cases  and  432, 628 others are now dead.

France remains the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 925, 071 all time cases, while 107, 696 patients are no more, followed by Turkey which has reported 5, 106, 862 all time cases and 44,537 deaths and Russia with 4, 875, 308 confirmed cases and 113,541 deaths.

The United Kingdom remains the 7th country most hit, now reporting 4,464, 634 confirmed cases and 127,937 deaths, followed by Spain with 3, 604, 799 all time  cases while 79, 339 others have already lost their lives and Germany  which has documented 3, 595, 975 confirmations and 86, 034 patients have passed on.

Argentina has come up as the 10th country most hit, reporting 3, 269, 466 all time cases and  69, 853 deaths and South Africa, now the 20th most afflicted country which has documented 1, 608, 393 all time cases, while 55, 124 others have lost their lives.
