JUSUN Condemns anti-constitutional disposition of state CJs

LAGOS, Nigeria – The National Executive Council(NEC) of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria(JUSUN) has vowed to continue with the ongoing nationwide strike to press for financial autonomy for the judiciary.
JUSUN made the resolve in a communiqué after NEC a meeting held at the conference room of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria in Abuja.
In the communiqué signed by Comrade Emmanuel Abioye, Chairman and Comrade I. M. Adetola, General Secretary, NEC vows to continue with the strike until the provision of the constitution in contention is complied with, stressing that the provisions are non-negotiable.
NEC also warned that no member of the union should be victimized on account of the strike and frowns at the anti-constitutional behavior of Chief Justice of some state on implementation of full financial autonomy for the judiciary.
It frowns at the anti-labour disposition of the Ebonyi State Governor, Mr. David Umahi and demanded for immediate payment of withheld August 2020 salary and release of check up dues accruing to the union.
